An Anniversary

It's amazing to think we've already reached a year of wedded bliss!  Kelly and I enjoyed celebrating our first anniversary last Saturday and on Monday (the actual day).

On Sat. we dressed up and went to Cappos, a favorite restaurant, styled after an italian speakeasy.  Kelly got to debut his new, blue three piece suit that I found at Savers for $13.  (He looked amazing!) And I wore another Savers find-- with my anniversary present-- an antique pocket watch, embossed with a little bird.  It's beautiful!  It was a perfect pick to compliment the pocketwatch that I gave Kelly for our wedding last year.

I tried to get a good picture of Kelly in his suit.  This one, taken while I was trying to rig up the camera for a timed shot of the two of us, is the only one he approves of!  (Can you see the pocketwatch chain? --His favorite part about the suit is the pocketwatch pocket!)

On Monday, Kelly brought me flowers to work-- not knowing I was just about to leave to work on HIS anniversary gift.  The flowers were gorgeous, with orchids that matched our wedding and bird of paradise-- one of his favorites!

Right after Kelly left, I retrieved my flowers and left too.  I set-up our table with details from our wedding and reception-- lots of yellow.

The little present in Kelly's bowl was cuff links to match his pocketwatch (and of course, a french cuff shirt to wear them with).

Our dinner at home was better than eating out, if I do say so myself.  We had butternut-pumpkin bisque with garlic-rosemary toasted baguette, salmon with a honey-pecan glaze and roasted brussel sprouts with ice cream and fresh raspberry sauce for dessert.  I highly recommend all the recipes.

It was a wonderful anniversary.  We're looking forward to the next one--- or maybe we won't wait for an excuse to celebrate!
