A Day at the Lake

It's official, Kelly and I were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple last Saturday. Thank you to all our family and friends who joined us and helped with the reception and other wedding events. We'll post a few pictures from the wedding once we get them, but for now we've just included a few from Lake Tahoe where we've been enjoying gorgeous weather and a nice break!

Tahoe is more developed than we expected. Did you know there are high rise casinos here?! (--And apparently public phones in the woods!)

The water is NOT swimming temperature. A lot of the sites are closed since it's between the summer and winter seasons-- but we've found plenty to see just driving and hiking around.

We've done lots of driving and hiking and found plenty of beautiful little spots to admire. My favorite was a drive around Fallen Leaf Lake, a small secluded lakeside community southwest of Lake Tahoe. Here are a few highlights from the drive.

The views were spectacular. Many of the homes were right along the Fallen Leaf Lake shoreline (pictured above), while others clung to the canyon walls with "backyard" views overlooking this waterfall.

Another spectacular view near the waterfall:

Not a bad place to go to church! Why don't we have any chapels like this?

I became completly enamoured with this house. It's my new dream house. I love the colors and the combination of brick and stonework that they used throughout the property.

Guesthouse in back.

These are "Kara colors". Would it look as cute if the windows weren't boarded up?

The view from the dock (notice the consistent stonework).

So, Kelly. How hard do you think it would be to build a house like this?!
