Workplace Conversation

One of our interns just pointed out to an African American co-worker (twenty-something student from LA) that his lotion “for medium skin tones” was not formulated for those with medium skin tones, as he had supposed—but was made to darken the color of those of us whose skin tone is less-than-medium.

He read from the back of the bottle that, “you will begin to see a subtle development of color within several days.” After a good laugh my co-worker added, “Oh well, I didn’t like it anyway; it’s all glittery”.

Additional note: my camera is fixed, I picked it up on my lunch break today. :-)

I Believe in Spelling

I realize that spelling is not everyone’s forte, but for some people misspellings are inexcusable. Is it too much to ask that those who are my superiors on the organizational chart should be able to spell?
